Best Date Ideas

After spending a night going through thousands of unusual date ideas, I decided that I will never again settle for the regular kind. Here is a list of dates that I would personally love to be on. This is a list of my top 25, but in no particular order(:

1. Go for a long drive. This is not one of the ones most people would find intriguing. But I love long drives. I must admit that I tend to fall asleep on car-rides, but I love nothing more than the soothing motion of a moving vehicle.

2. Play board games. I absolutely love board games. My favorite is Clue, but I also enjoy Risk and just about everything else! I also like Phase 10, Rummy, and all of those card games. It’s even better as a double or triple date, though, so think twice about when planning this one.

3. Volunteer at a Homeless Shelter. This has to be one the greatest ideas I’ve ever seen. I would enjoy a dog shelter as well, but this is still an incredibly good idea. I think it shows compassion. Plus, helping other people makes me feel fantastic, why not share that with my significant other?

4. Go to the Shooting Range. There isn’t much romance to be had here, but I love to shoot. If a guy and a girl enjoy the same thing, they most certainly should do those things together. I would seriously enjoy going to a range and competing. I love competition.

5. Go to a Haunted House. This is actually quite common, but it still makes my top 25. I am a jumpy person, and I enjoy being “scared.” I don’t actually get scared, though… So if you do, this might not be a good idea for you.

6. Visit a Nursing Home and Hand Out Flowers.  I was thinking more along the lines of gift cards/handmade gifts because someone might be allergic to flowers, but this is still a great idea. I don’t know, I am into unusual ideas.

7. Attend a Painting Class. It doesn’t have to be painting. I would also love a cake decorating class, a pottery making class, etc. I love to try new things and improve on skills I don’t really have.

8. Have a Pizza Making Competition. Basically, you and your partner create a pizza and a few other couples to do the same. Whoever has the best tasting pizza wins!

9. Bake Something Together. This is fantastic. Bake a batch of unusual treats (not just cookies or brownies) and bring them to the homeless shelter! This is a great way to get to know one another!

10. Decorate Mugs Together. Oooh pottery painting. I actually paint pottery regularly, and I make projects out of it. For me, this would be a 4-6 hour date, so plan accordingly.

11. Get a Friend to do a Photo Shoot. Absolutely! You can dress up in completely ridiculous clothing, do some in normal clothes, whatever! This would be a really fun day, and you’d have plenty of pictures to keep of it!

12. Volunteer for a Service Project Together. Wow, a lot of these suggestions happen to be about volunteering, but hey, what can I say? It’s a good idea. I like helping others, and I would hope my significant other felt the same!

13. Leave Notes for Others. This is a cute idea, I saw one of my friends do it with words of encouragement. She went to the city and wrote random words of encouragement and left them places for others to find.

14. Geocaching. This would be a serious date. How cool would this be? There is so much fun to be had by geocaching!

15. Fake An Adventure with Pictures. This just sounds super appealing to me.. I think it would be fun. Just fool around with a camera and see what happens. (You might want photoshop for this)

16. Dress Up Like Super-Heroes and Stop Petty Crimes. This would make my day. I would love it, and I would love pictures of it. It’s always nice to add in a little “weird”

17. Write a Short Story with Strangers. Just start writing a short story and ask strangers if they have time to add a line or two and see what you come up with.

18. Walk Around a City and Perform Short, Silent Plays in Front of a Camera. This could be SO much fun. I’d rehearse the same one and just let thousands of people watch that one. This would seriously be the coolest thing ever.

19. With a Camera and a Pair of Boots, Make a Photo Log of the Life of an Invisible Man. This could be seriously interesting. I am thinking maybe a jacket and umbrella, too. Or a top hat.

20. Make T-Shirts. Or a blanket or a pillowcase. Who cares? Grab some paint and have fun!

21. Play 20 Questions. This is a cool thing to do to get to know one another. I think it’d be great paired with a midnight, moonlight picnic.

22. Horseback Riding. I would love to go horseback riding! Now it’s time to find a ranch!

23. A date with Children. I love children more than anything in the world, and I love being around them! Of course, you should always be responsible and focus on the kids, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy it!

24. Go on an Adventure Trail. Many forest parks have trails you can go on, or you can even make your own. Enjoy the wild-life and get up a little early to watch the sunrise to do it!

25. Create a Roller Coaster with Insulation Tubes, Duct Tape, Toothpicks, and a Marble! I’ve actually done this before-in my 8th grade Science Class. It was really fun! Create a whole amusement park with odd things like this!

26. Create a proposal for a popluar business and actually send it in!

Don’t forget to take pictures on all of these(: If you have any more to add, please comment below! (For some really crazy, out there suggestions: http://tomorrowcrusader.deviantart.com/art/100-Weird-Date-Ideas-11-128541924) I hope you enjoyed this blog post!
